Stichting Kolorob is a non-profit organisation, founded in Almere in 2022. It exists for the quiet work of multiculturalism: conversation between cultures, between faiths, between neighbours who have lived on the same street for years and never once been inside each other’s kitchens. We believe in reaching everyone, in offering a place where culture and information can be passed along, the way a dish is passed across a table, with both hands and without ceremony.
Our hope is a modest one: that a person might arrive as a stranger, and leave having been told something true by someone else.
Stichting Kolorob একটি অলাভজনক সংস্থা। ২০২২ সালে Almere-এ তার জন্ম। কাজটা শুনতে গালভরা, আসলে সোজা: নানা দেশের, নানা ধর্মের, নানা ভাষার মানুষকে একই জায়গায় এনে বসানো, যাতে একটু কথা হয়, একটু শোনাশুনি হয়। লোকে বলে মানুষে মানুষে নাকি দেয়াল থাকে। আমাদের ধারণা, সে দেয়ালের অনেকটাই ভাবনার দেয়াল, এক কাপ চায়ের সামনে বসলে তা বেশিক্ষণ দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে পারে না।
তাই আমরা চাই সমাজের সবার কাছে পৌঁছতে। এমন একটা মঞ্চ গড়তে, যেখানে সংস্কৃতির আর খবরাখবরের আদানপ্রদান চলে নিরন্তর।
Our Brief Historyছোট্ট একটু ইতিহাস
It began in May 2022, on an evening when the light was slow to leave the sky. A few friends had gathered, with no thought of cultural exchange. They spoke instead of nostalgia, as people do who have lived a long time away from the place that first taught them how to speak. One mentioned the smell of a certain street after rain; another described the sound of a conch shell at dusk. For a while no one said anything at all.
They had all made homes in this country. They had learned its rules, its weather, its bicycles. And yet none of them had quite left the other country behind. It lived on in them, ordinary and unannounced, like a language spoken only in sleep. It was out of this feeling that the idea arrived, almost gently: that Almere might hold a Durga Puja, for the first time.
Durga Puja is the great festival of Kolkata. UNESCO has inscribed it on its list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, recognising it as a remarkable instance of religion and art performed in public, and as a place where artists and designers work side by side. For the friends in that room it was also something simpler: a drum heard from the next lane, and the feeling, for a few days each autumn, of belonging entirely.
ইতিহাস বললে যে গম্ভীর চেহারাটা মনে ভেসে ওঠে, কলোরবের ইতিহাস মোটেই তেমন নয়। ২০২২ সালের মে মাস। এক ঝকঝকে সন্ধ্যায় কয়েকজন বন্ধু জড়ো হয়েছিলেন, কোনো কাজের কথা বলতে নয়, নেহাত গল্প করতে। গল্প গড়াতে গড়াতে গিয়ে ঠেকল সেই পুরোনো রোগে, মন-কেমন। সংস্কৃতি বিনিময়ের চিন্তা তখন কারও মাথাতেই ছিল না, ছিল শুধু ফেলে আসা দিনের কথা।
এই দেশটাকে আমরা অনেকেই আপন করে নিয়েছি, ঘরবাড়ি পেতেছি। কিন্তু যে মাটিতে, যে সুরে, যে গন্ধে বড় হয়েছি, তাকে তো ভোলা যায় না। ভুলতে চাইলেও সে ঠিক কোনো না কোনো বিকেলে এসে কড়া নাড়ে। সেদিন সন্ধ্যায়ও নাড়ল, আর কড়া নাড়ার সেই শব্দ থেকেই বেরিয়ে এল আস্ত একটা প্রস্তাব: Almere-এ এই প্রথম দুর্গাপুজো করলে কেমন হয়?
কলকাতার দুর্গাপুজো মানবজাতির অধরা সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্যের তালিকায় UNESCO-র স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে। ধর্ম আর শিল্পের এমন সর্বজনীন উৎসব নাকি পৃথিবীতে বিরল, শিল্পী আর নকশাকারদের মিলেমিশে কাজ করার জায়গাও বটে। প্রস্তাবটা শুনে কেউ হাসলেন, কেউ চোখ কপালে তুললেন, আর কেউ কেউ মনে মনে বোধহয় ঢাকের বোল ধরেই ফেললেন। সেই থেকে পথ চলা শুরু।

Our Vision
The Netherlands is made richer by the many people who live in it. Harmony between them does not happen on its own; it grows slowly, out of encounters, out of small kindnesses repeated. We would like to help that along in our own city, as a catalyst for understanding and respect.

আমাদের লক্ষ্য
- ভারতীয় সংস্কৃতিকে নেদারল্যান্ডসের নানা প্রান্তে পৌঁছে দেওয়া।
- সমাজের মানুষ যাতে নিজেদের ভাবনা আর দেখার ভঙ্গি পরস্পরকে দিতে-নিতে পারেন, তার একটা ঠাঁই গড়ে তোলা।
- ভিন্ন ভিন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষের মধ্যে বোঝাপড়া, শ্রদ্ধা আর মেনে নেওয়ার মন বাড়ানো।
- Almere-এ ভারতীয় আর ডাচ সমাজের মধ্যে সাংস্কৃতিক লেনদেনের সেতু বাঁধা।
আমাদের স্বপ্ন
নেদারল্যান্ডস এমন একটি দেশ, যার সম্পদ তার বাসিন্দাদের বৈচিত্র্য। নানা রঙের মানুষ একসঙ্গে থাকলে তবেই সমাজে শান্তি আর মিল টেকে, আর সে মিলের গোড়ায় থাকে মেলামেশা। মানুষ যত কাছাকাছি আসে, ততই ভালো সম্পর্ক গড়ে ওঠে। আমাদের এই বহুসংস্কৃতির শহরে আমরা হতে চাই সেই ছোট্ট অনুঘটক, যে পরস্পরের বোঝাপড়া আর শ্রদ্ধাকে একটু উসকে দেয়।
- এমন এক নেদারল্যান্ডস, যেখানে মিল আছে, আলো আছে, আর আছে সবাইকে জড়িয়ে চলা সমাজ।
- সমাজের প্রতি দায় মনে রাখা একটি সংগঠন হয়ে ওঠা, সামাজিক কাজে পাশে দাঁড়ানো।
- বৈচিত্র্য আর বহুসংস্কৃতির উদ্যাপনে যাঁরা বিশ্বাসী, সেইসব দল আর সংগঠনের সঙ্গে বন্ধুত্ব ও অংশীদারিত্ব গড়া।
